I learnt how to make natural skin care from my grandmother who was a herbalist. I grew up in Calabar,Calabar South East of Nigeria has been known to European sailors as far back as the 15th century and was recognised as an international sea port since the 16th century.

Growing up in Calabar brings fond memories of people who used cosmetics mostly from plants to enhance their appearance and to protect and nourish the body. Grandmother was small woman about 5ft tall, lived in a hut. She made soaps, hair pomades, poultice, creams,tinctures and many more. People came from neighbouring village to seek her wisdom, mostly women occasionally a few men. It was said that she had the knowledge of herbs and it properties and could advise as appropriate. As a young child growing up, I never understood why we could not buy soaps and creams like other people did. I wanted to go to the shops and buy those nicely wrapped smelly soaps not the ones that grandma got us to make at home.

I remember going on adventures with grandma into the woodland picking herbs,collecting roots and getting home, she carefully sort them to dry. Then she would grind the some of the herbs into powder and some of roots would use to make poultice and mixtures.

Years later I have come to appreciate the knowledge that she left behind, as many people are now choosing and rediscovering the benefits of alternative traditional based products. That is why I bring you our range of body care products that features all natural, using only organic ingredients from grandma's recipe.

Having completed a degree in Social Policy & Sociology, I completed a series of courses in making cosmetics. I started my own skincare range virtually from my kitchen about eight years ago, it started as a hobby and progressed from there. Our business insist on stocking a wide range of raw materials direct from fair trade project in Africa and India as we aim to support others to earn a living.
